Maria and I, coming from diverse backgrounds, but in helping professions, found each other and married about 17 years ago.  While she was working at her long-time profession as a Registered Nurse, I was helping provide counseling services at a youth ranch for troubled boys.  

Neither of us had specialized training in recognizing and treating chemical addictions(especially me).  Upon joining forces, we decided to both go back to school to learn more about helping people with addictions to substances like alcohol and other drugs.  In the process, we also learned much about treating the underlying issues associated with these problems, such as anger, fears, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, aggressive behaviors, etc.
 
We gained valuable experience in helping clients deal with substance abuse problems and these other related issues while operating an outpatient facility for another company.  Maria’s bi-lingual, bi-cultural skills helped us reach out to the Spanish-speaking population as well as those who spoke English.  
 
This experience gave us the opportunity to touch many lives, while becoming increasingly aware of the need to provide more effective, more personalized service, without the use of drugs to treat drugs.  This awareness led to the establishment of our own practice, Options Counseling, in 1997.  This move freed us up to more actively search for and implement, more effective, drug-free treatment approaches.  

The formation of Narconon® Idaho was one of the early results of our continuing search for higher success ratios.  That was our introduction to effective treatment via interaction between physical, mental, spiritual and emotional processes.  

Maria, through additional training, became proficient at helping individuals involved in Domestic Violence(offenders and victims), as well as those affected by DOT rules regarding substance abuse.

Now, more recently, with additional training, the implementation of EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques, developed by Gary Craig) has given us the means to help provide to you, our clients, not only more effective, but quicker relief from addictions(chemical and behavioral), cravings, fears, trauma, anger, anxiety, depression, need to control, and other related issues. As a bonus, we have seen how this emotional freedom has often resulted in freedom from physical pain and other health issues, as the process intervenes with the body’s energy system.
