Domestic Violence Intervention Program

This program is education based. It is neither anger control or therapy. The focus is not to "fix" the relationship, but to stop the violence/abuse that is destroying it.

Objective:

• Define abuse/controling behaviors.
• Be accountable for own behaviors.
• Examine own belief system/behaviors that support violence.
• Discuss the effects of abuse on women,children and themselves.
• Identify healthy relationship based on respect/trust.
• Practice the non-controlling behaviors/communication skills.

This program consists of 26 weekly sessions of 60-90 minutes.

Maria has had ten years experience in facilitating groups of men who have a domestic violence charge and court ordered to attend the class. She has also worked with others who just want to improve their relationships.
